Join us for a Murder Mystery experience as we celebrate Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"!
"The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" was published just over 200 years ago, and the literate world is holding a convention to celebrate! Plus, convention organizers promise a spectacular revelation--the discovery of Irving's initial draft, which is scheduled to be read in public for the very first time, by none other than noted Washington Irving impersonator, Zephyr Shatner! But things are not always what they seem, secrets and lies swirl around every corner, and before the night is over, somebody will lose their head!
Enter a world of mayhem, madness, and absolute silliness in this one-of-a-kind interactive murder mystery event! Everyone is a suspect, even you! Players will be assigned a character beforehand and are encouraged to arrive in costume. Learn secrets and accomplish goals to earn money that you use to purchase clues to help you unravel the mystery.
This is not an event for wallflowers! At this party, YOU are part of the action and should be ready for anything! You might even end up being the murderer! Who do you trust? Who do you believe? Can you unmask the killer in your midst before they strike again?

Paint a Headless Horseman Pumpkin with Heather Gleason
Join Halloween artist Heather Gleason as she teaches you the step-by-step process of painting your own Headless Horseman Painting! Each participant will receive a 11 x 14" prepared canvas panel, brushes and acrylic paints to create their very own artwork. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
Heather will work with everyone, mingling about and showing techniques. No two paintings will be alike as each participant will add their own unique details. Light snacks and drinks will be served. Everyone will leave with their very own special artwork and a spooktacular gift handmade by Heather. Have fun painting while supporting the historic Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and its residents. Bram Stoker’s Dracula
Bram Stoker’s Dracula comes to life for one night only at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery’s Washington Irving Memorial Chapel. This adaptation, drawn from Stoker’s original 1897 text, follows the bloodthirsty Count, his naive solicitor Jonathan Harker, and vampire hunter Dr. Abraham Van Helsing in the Gothic horror tale that started it all. The Headless Horseman isn’t the only thing to fear in Sleepy Hollow!

An Ode to Francis Saltus
Join Sleepy Hollow Cemetery for an evening in honor of illustrious poet, linguist, musician and scholar Francis Saltus Saltus, a name so nice, they gave it to him twice.
Fluent in 10 languages, the ambidextrous Francis was said to be able to write sonnets with one hand while simultaneously composing opera with the other. He was quite a character, to put it mildly.
The epitome of “live fast, die young”, Saltus penned classics like Flasks & Flagons, an ode to 31 beverages including tea, hot chocolate, coffee, water – and 27 kinds of alcohol. It’s no wonder he died at age 40 in 1889.
Enjoy a reading of his delightful poems and quaff an adult beverage or two to get in the right spirit before visiting his grave. It will be the perfect way to pay our respects to the talented Mr. Saltus!
