Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard is a family-owned, first-generation farm and apple orchard in North Salem, NY, open seven days a week from spring through Christmas. Its farm store carries local produce, plants, eggs, grass-fed beef, baked goods, and its signature cider donuts, and it also runs a CSA program. The fall season brings apple and pumpkin picking, hayrides, and weekend festivals with live music and food, followed by Halloween-themed evening events and a holiday Festival of Lights. For Thanksgiving, the farm takes pre-orders for fresh, farm-raised, antibiotic-free turkeys, with orders opening in October.
On the property, Hardscrabble Cider makes hard cider from apples picked and pressed right on the farm, in flavors ranging from dry and apple-forward to beet and mixed-fruit. Its tasting room is open daily and serves cider flights, local beer, and cocktails, with live music and pizza on weekends.
