Demeter’s has been a Tarrytown neighborhood tavern since 1947, and it’s still family owned and operated, now in its third generation. Today it’s a sports bar with 15 HD TVs showing NFL, MLB, NHL, Big Ten, and SEC games, so there’s rarely a bad seat for the game.
Outside of game time, it’s an easygoing spot for burgers and other pub classics, with beer on tap, a wine list, and a kids’ menu. There’s a patio out front for warm days, and ample USB charging ports for phones. Want a particular game on? Call ahead and they’ll do their best to tune it in.
It’s within walking distance of several area hotels, including SpringHill Suites and Courtyard by Marriott. There’s a free lot behind the building and street parking out front. Reservations are suggested for parties of six or more; otherwise seating is first come, first served. Private events and after-parties can be arranged by phone.
