Greg Abate Quartet

August 13 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$15 – $20

Renowned for bringing jazz around the globe as a world-traveling musician, saxophonist/flutist Greg Abate got his first major gig out of Berklee College of Music playing lead alto in the Ray Charles Band.

He also played tenor in the revived Artie Shaw Band and then ventured out as a soloist and composer in post-bop, Latin, and modern styles, performing at jazz festivals and clubs worldwide. Since 1991, he has released more than 16 albums.

Greg has been inducted into the RI MUSIC HALL OF FAME 2016.

Jazz Forum, Westchester County’s only dedicated jazz club, is tucked away on a side street in downtown Tarrytown. Drawing musicians from around the world, the club strives to make music affordable and accessible. Headline jazz artists perform on Friday and Saturday nights with two sets per night at 7 and 9:30 pm. Two Sunday afternoon sets at 4 pm and 6 pm often feature Brazilian and Latin jazz. Check the club’s website for each weekend’s performer list and to purchase tickets. Many shows sell out in advance, get yours early.

The Jazz Forum offers a full menu including entrées, dinner plates, cured meats and cheese, tapenades and house-made desserts. It has a full bar and features fine Italian wines, local draft beers and specialty cocktails. The food and drink menu is available for all Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows.

Jazz Forum also produces a popular series of outdoor summer concerts at five Hudson River locations: Lyndhurst mansion, Tarrytown’s Pierson Park, Sleepy Hollow’s Horan’s Landing Park, Dobbs Ferry Waterfront Park, and Henry Gourdine Park in Ossining.
