Birding at Rockefeller State Park Preserve

March 1 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Free

Rockefeller State Park Preserve together with adjoining private lands is one of the largest undeveloped tracts of land in Westchester County. With its mix of woodlands, fields, wetlands and a lake, the Preserve supports a diversity of species, especially birds. Come find out why the National Audubon Society has designated this an Important Bird Area. A hint: nearly 200 bird species have been spotted here! Our local Audubon chapter, Saw Mill River Audubon, regularly leads small group bird walks here. Group sizes are limited, registration is required. They are good for all levels of birding experience and beginners are very welcome! Walks are for adults and youth age 8 or older. Let the society know in advance if you want to borrow binoculars by emailing them at: office@sawmillriveraudubon.org
