The headless horseman leads the start of Sleepy Hollow Halloween 10k.

The Headless Horseman sends off costumed runners from Beekman Avenue on a 6.2-mile loop through some of the most storied ground in American literature.

The certified USATF course winds through the village past the Old Dutch Church, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, and along the Hudson River with views of the Headless Horseman Bridge. Three water stations are on the course; a bag check is at the start. Electronic timing, RRCA Championship Series awards, and age category prizes in ten-year intervals from 0–14 through 80+.

The Kids Fun Run starts at 9:00 am. Costumes are encouraged but not required for both events. Inline skates, strollers, and pets are not permitted.
