Jason Marsalis Quartet • Tribute to Lionel Hampton

August 12, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$25 – $30

Mr. Marsalis is an exact and articulate four-mallet player, shaping the harmony throughout by dampening bars with hand or mallet, keeping tight control over the sustain pedal for maximum variety of sound. ~ Downbeat

The youngest member of America’s first family of jazz, Jason Marsalis is an accomplished vibraphonist, composer, performer and bandleader, who makes his own mark with his fiery and passionate talents.

Like his father and brothers, Jason simultaneously takes his gifts in new directions while paying homage to the great traditions of his New Orleans hometown and the masters who influenced him. Downbeat gave his latest live quartet album four stars calling him “an irrepressible force.”
