Now expanded to four Saturdays this fall, join a guided tour through the history and architecture of historic Christ Church San Marcos, Washington Irving’s own parish. See the beautiful stained glass memorial windows, learn the stories behind them, and visit Irving’s marked pew along with other memorabilia from his years as warden and vestryman of the church.

Docents will be on hand to walk you through the church’s nearly 200-year history — from its founding in 1836 to its role in “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” lore.

Tours are offered at four time slots each Saturday (see schedule above). Suggested donations of $10/person help support general operations, and $15/person directly supports the church’s Historic Preservation Fund — though free registration is also available for anyone who’d like to join without donating. Note: Tours will not run on October 24, due to road closures for the Tarrytown Halloween Parade that day. Instead, mark your calendar for October 17, when Christ Church hosts an Open House during the Fall Fair — with self-guided tours and docents available throughout the day, no reservation required.
