Sleepy Hollow Cinema Presents: Exorcist II & Boorman and the Devil

Sleepy Hollow Cinema returns to the Lyceum for a double feature pairing one of horror’s most notorious misfires with the documentary that finally makes sense of it. Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977), John Boorman’s ambitious and wildly divisive follow-up to William Friedkin’s genre-defining original, bombed with critics and audiences on release — but has spent the decades since building a devoted cult following. Screening alongside it is a Westchester-exclusive premiere of Boorman and the Devil (2025), David Kittredge’s acclaimed new documentary on the making — and unmaking — of the film, featuring new interviews with cast and crew, including Boorman himself, who breaks a near 50-year silence to speak on the record about how Exorcist II came to be.

Tickets and showtimes available at sleepyhollowcinema.org/events.

Times: Exorcist II: The Heretic — 7:15 PM · Boorman and the Devil — 9:30 PM
Tickets: $16 per film, or $27 for the double feature.
