Jazz Concert at Historic Christ Church

May 17 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Free

Live Jazz concert on Sunday, May 17th at 3pm. A performance of Jazz Standards, Bossa Novas, and Beatles! Featuring Hasan Dajani, guitar; Andre Obligado, guitar/vocal; and Lynn Viggiano, piano. The Jazz concert is a Free Will Offering with all proceeds benefiting the Church.

Washington Irving, author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” followed the Rev. Dr. William Creighton to this church from Zion Episcopal in Dobbs Ferry. Irving was a vestryman, warden, Sunday School teacher, and regular parishioner at Christ Church until his death in 1859. The ivy on the church walls is from cuttings taken at Irving’s home, Sunnyside, and his pew is still marked in the front of the sanctuary.
