Pinkster provided one of the few opportunities for enslaved men and women to travel to family members. It was a time of celebration\, but the condition of enslavement was still the harsh reality of life. \nPhilipsburg Manor began celebrating Pinkster in 1977\, making this event the longest-running recreation of Pinkster in North America. \nThe Pinkster Festival is curated by Malik Work and presented by Historic Hudson Valley.

Admire beautiful art\, architecture and cool cemetery symbolism along the way. This tour gives a great overview of why Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is so famous. \nPlease note that the Classic Daytime Tour is the same route as the Classic Evening Lantern tour. The content is exactly the same – it just starts in a different location. \nDates: Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. through the summer.
