SUMMARY:Classic Daytime Cemetery Tour
DESCRIPTION:Soak up the beauty of this 173-year old cemetery while your guide regales you with stories of the fascinating people resting here in peace. \nThis two-hour daytime walk is the perfect way “to have a colloquy among the tombs” as Washington Irving\, famous author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”\, did himself back in 1849. \nYou’ll pay homage to the great author\, stop by some of the most interesting monuments in the old section before heading north to visit the final resting places of two-term Chicago Mayor Walter Gurnee\, steel titan Andrew Carnegie\, oilman William Rockefeller\, two people vital to the success of Wells Fargo and American Express\, and much more. Admire beautiful art\, architecture and cool cemetery symbolism along the way.  This tour gives a great overview of why Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is so famous. \nPlease note that the Classic Daytime Tour is the same route as the Classic Evening Lantern tour. The content is exactly the same – it just starts in a different location. \nDates: Every Saturday and Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 p.m through November 27th.

SUMMARY:Victorian Christmas at the Octagon House
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the holiday season in Victorian splendor at The Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington\, New York. Join us for an opportunity to experience this lyrical\, eight-sided home surrounded by the sights of Christmas in 1872. The restored National Landmark will be filled with elaborate holiday décor featuring wreaths\, garlands\, and the sparkle of ornaments on a grand Christmas Tree inside the salon. \nCreated as a whimsical summer retreat in 1872 by tea-importer Joseph Stiner\, this National Historic Landmark’s shape was based on the theories of Orson Squire Fowler\, a phrenologist\, who believed octagonal houses enclosed more space\, allowed the sun in at all times\, and permitted more views into the landscape. The Armour-Stiner Octagon House retains its magnificent ornamentation and furnishings and includes the only remaining Egyptian Revival Room in America with its original decoration and furniture.

SUMMARY:Gary Gulman
DESCRIPTION:With over 25 years in comedy\, Gary Gulman has established himself as an eminent performer and peerless writer. It’s no wonder the New York Times wrote\, “Gary is finally being recognized as one of the country’s strongest comedians.” \n\n\nA product of Boston\, Gulman has been a scholarship college football player\, an accountant\, and a high school teacher. He has made countless television appearances as both a comedian and an actor and is one of only a handful of comedians to perform on every single late-night comedy program. \nGulman has made four successful TV specials including his most recent critically acclaimed stand-up special for HBO\, The Great Depresh\, a tour de force look at mental illness\, which is equal parts hilarious and inspiring. In 2019 he appeared in the international blockbuster Joker. He was most recently seen co-starring with Amy Schumer in the hit Hulu comedy series\, Life & Beth.

SUMMARY:Joan Osborne w/ special guests Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams
DESCRIPTION:Touring in support of her tenth studio album\, the masterful Trouble and Strife\, Joan Osborne has issued a clarion call. With stunning vocals\, a diverse range of sonics\, and incisive lyrics\, this deeply engaging collection of new original songs is her response to “the crazy\, chaotic times we’re living in\,” she says\, and “a recognition of the important role music has to play in this moment. Music has a unique ability to re-energize people and allow us to continue to hang on to that sense of joy of being alive.” \n\nSince she broke through 25 years ago with the multi-platinum Relish and its touchstone mega-smash “One of Us\,” the seven-time Grammy nominee has never played it safe. Osborne has followed her restless musical heart\, exploring a diverse range of genres: pop rock\, soul\, R&B\, blues\, roots rock\, gospel\, funk\, and country – all of which can be heard on Trouble and Strife\, along with the Western side of C&W and a touch of glam and disco. “For a lot of the record\, we were going for a ‘70s AM radio vibe\,” says Osborne. As for the lyrics\, the songs “are the most political I’ve ever written\,”she conveys of her first album of originals since 2014’s confessional Love and Hate. Osborne also produced Trouble and Strife\, primarily recorded in her basement studio in Brooklyn and released on the label she founded in 1991\, Womanly Hips. \nMulti-instrumentalist\, singer-songwriter Larry Campbell and singer-guitarist Teresa Williams are frequent collaborators with Phil Lesh\, Levon Helm\, Little Feat\, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady\, brought to the stage the crackling creative energy of a decades-long offstage union.
