You’re in for some wickedly good fun! \n\nWinter Theater performances take place on the 2nd floor in the Art Gallery of the historic mansion.\nPerformances will seat 36 guests and last 80 minutes without intermission.\nThere is no elevator in the mansion and guests will access the performance space by ascending 25 steps on the main staircase. \nPlease plan to arrive 20 minutes prior to performance time to check-in at the Welcome Center and bring your own mask if you are able.\nAdvanced online ticket sales only; there is no on-site ticket availability.\nMasks are required to be worn by all attendees during the performance.\nGuests will walk up to the mansion as a group. DESCRIPTION:Bruce Hornsby returns to Tarrytown Music Hall for an intimate solo performance. Bruce has built one of the most diverse\, collaborative\, and adventurous careers in contemporary music. Drawing from a vast wellspring of American musical traditions\, the singer/pianist/composer/bandleader has created a large and accomplished body of work and employed a vast array of stylistic approaches. Throughout this period\, Hornsby has maintained the integrity\, virtuosity and artistic curiosity that have been hallmarks of his work from the start. \nHornsby and his band The Range’s first album “The Way It Is” (1986) was steadily and slowly building in popularity in the U.S. when in August the title track exploded on BBC Radio One in England\, then Europe\, the rest of the world and finally in the United States. The record went on to sell three million records\, the band played Saturday Night Live and opened for Steve Winwood\, John Fogerty\, Huey Lewis\, the Grateful Dead and the Eurythmics before becoming headliners on their own tour supported by Crowded House.His three Grammy wins ( along with his ten Grammy losses!) typify the diversity of his career: Best New Artist (1986) as leader of Bruce Hornsby and the Range\, Best Bluegrass Recording (1989) for a version of his old Range hit “The Valley Road” that appeared on the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s “Will The Circle Be Unbroken Volume Two\, and a shared award with Branford Marsalis in 1993 for Best Pop Instrumental for “Barcelona Mona”\, a song written and performed for the 1992 Olympic Games.

SUMMARY:The Manhattan Transfer 50th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:The 10-time Grammy-winning vocal group\, The Manhattan Transfer\, is celebrating 50 years of their distinctive and eclectic sound with what they are calling their “final world tour.” \nFounded in 1972 and named after the 1925 novel by John Dos Passos\, the quartet has broken the boundaries among genres. In 1981 they won Grammys in both pop and jazz categories — and also broke records by winning 12 Grammy nominations for their 1985 album\, “Vocalese.” \nThe original members were the late Tim Hauser (bass)\, Janis Siegel (alto)\, Alan Paul (tenor) and Laurel Masse (soprano). When Masse left the group after a car accident in 1979\, Cheryl Bentyne replaced her; when Hauser died in 2014\, Trist Curless took over his part. Since then\, the group has remained the same. Their newest release of 30 albums is “FIFTY” (2022)\, and they are members of the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.

DESCRIPTION:A musical celebration on the 100th anniversary of the cemetery’s Washington Irving Memorial Tower Chimes! \n\n\nInstalled in 1923 but silent for decades\, the cemetery’s 10-note Deagan Tower Chimes were recently restored to operation. Local church organists will demonstrate how this unique instrument is played by keyboard. Join Washington Irving himself as he awakens these chimes from their Rip Van Winkle-like slumber! \nThe J. C. Deagan Company of Chicago manufactured and installed about 440 sets of tower chimes over a period of about 40 years. Many have since been scrapped or lost to when the structures which housed them were razed. Of the Deagan tower installations that remain in their original locations\, only a handful are in operating condition. Sleepy Hollow Cemetery‘s set is one of only four in New York State known to be working. \nRain or shine.

Don’t miss this rare chance to enter one of the historic water diversion chamber to view the tunnel itself! \nThis is a free\, easy\, 2-hour tour operated by Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct. Meet at the benches in front of the Joseph Caputo Center\, which is located at 95 Broadway\, Ossining\, NY 10562\, just west of Rte. 9/Highland Ave. at the junction of Croton Ave. (Rte. 133) (from Metro-North Ossining Train Station by taxi or 15-minute uphill walk). (Parking lots nearby) After a brief walk\, descend into the Weir in Ossining and explore the original 1842 brick water tunnel and learn its history. \nRequired: pre-registration (limited number); bring masks\, and social distancing. Walk will be rescheduled if weather does not cooperate.

Their influence is evident in the expansion of the main house from a country villa to a Gothic mansion\, the park-like design of the grounds\, and the rich furnishings and decorations inside. \nTours begin in April on Saturdays and Sundays\, expand to Thursday through Monday in May\, and Thursday through Tuesday in July. In late September\, the mansion transforms for the Halloween season with special collections and decorations out on display. The site closes in November as the mansion changes to the splendor of the Holiday season and re-opens the Friday after Thanksgiving for tours\, which run until the end of December. \n\nClassic Mansion Tour: Great for first-time visitors. Admire beautiful art\, architecture and cool cemetery symbolism along the way.  This tour gives a great overview of why Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is so famous. \nPlease note that the Classic Daytime Tour is the same route as the Classic Evening Lantern tour. The content is exactly the same – it just starts in a different location. \nDates: Every Saturday and Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 p.m in September. DESCRIPTION:Lyndhurst\, one of America’s finest Gothic Revival mansions\, overlooks the Hudson River in Tarrytown\, NY. The estate was shaped for more than a century by three families and their staff: The Pauldings\, The Merritts\, and the Goulds. Their influence is evident in the expansion of the main house from a country villa to a Gothic mansion\, the park-like design of the grounds\, and the rich furnishings and decorations inside. \nTours begin in April on Saturdays and Sundays\, expand to Thursday through Monday in May\, and Thursday through Tuesday in July. In late September\, the mansion transforms for the Halloween season with special collections and decorations out on display. The site closes in November as the mansion changes to the splendor of the Holiday season and re-opens the Friday after Thanksgiving for tours\, which run until the end of December. \n\nClassic Mansion Tour: Great for first-time visitors. Your visit covers the two main floors of the house.\nUpstairs/Downstairs Tour: Covers the main floors of the mansion with the addition of the backstairs and service spaces.\nInside/Outside Tour: Covers the main floors of the mansion\, then progresses through recently restored “outdoor rooms” in the rockeries\, rare trees\, gardens and outbuildings.\nLyndhurst Ramble Tour: In celebration of the Hudson River Valley Ramble\, a two- walking tour of the historic estate.\nDaily Grounds Pass: Enjoy the landscape; no tour\, no entry to mansion.\n\nLocation: Lyndhurst is a 67-acre estate\, with 15 individual buildings. All tour ticket holders should check in at the Carriage House Welcome Center\, where all tours begin. The Welcome Center is only open on days that tours are running.
