SUMMARY:Benny Benack III Quintet
DESCRIPTION:Making his Jazz Forum Debut! \nBy age 28\, trumpeter and singer Benny Benack III has proven to be a rare talent: not only a fiery trumpet player with a stirring command of the postbop trumpet vernacular in the vein of Kenny Dorham and Blue Mitchell\, but also a singer with a sly\, mature\, naturally expressive delivery in the post-Sinatra mold\, performing standards and his own astute songs with a thrilling sense of showmanship. \nHis superb intonation and bracing virtuosity enable him to handle astounding feats of originally composed vocalese (complex solos with written lyrics). And he’s a highly capable pianist as well.

SUMMARY:Octagon House Classic Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Armour-Stiner Octagon House\, a registered National Historic Landmark\, was created as a summer retreat by tea-importer Joseph Stiner. Its shape was based on the theories of Orson Squire Fowler\, a phrenologist\, who believed octagonal houses enclosed more space\, allowed the sun in at all times\, and permitted more views into the landscape. \nThe tour includes a brief history of specimen plants original to the property\, the carefully restored Lord and Burnham greenhouse\, the wonderfully romantic foxglove garden\, (shaped in the exact size and footprint of the house itself!)\, and the charming Octagonal birdhouse\, (a scaled-down replica of the house). Visitors will also experience the house’s wrap-around veranda that offers 360-degree views of the lush landscape\, as well as particular architectural details which relate specifically to native plants and foliage of the grounds. Finally\, the tour will continue inside the house with an interior tour of the first\, second and third floors\, which retain their magnificent ornamentation and furnishings. \nTimed tours only\, last tour of the day starts at 4 pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance. \nThe Octagon House is a private residence. In exchange for the opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind historic home\, all visitors must follow house rules.

SUMMARY:Chris Distefano: Right Intention\, Wrong Move
DESCRIPTION:Chris Distefano is one of today’s biggest and most beloved names in comedy. Chris quickly rose to success after being named the funniest person on MTV for his show-stopping performances on the Guy Code/Girl Code series. From there\, he went on to star in IFC’s Benders\, co-host the Netflix gameshow Ultimate Beastmaster\, and even had his own CBS sitcom. Outside of television\, Chris has also become one of the most respected and flat-out funniest comedians in the standup world. Fresh off his appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Seth Meyers\, Chris released his Comedy Central special 38 Waist\, which perfectly encompassed both his Brooklyn-born edge and nice-guy charm. \nWhen Chris isn’t on stage delivering his gut-busting jokes\, you can catch him in his element in the comfort of his own couch where he records his wildly successful podcasts\, “Chrissy Chaos” and “Hey Babe”\, alongside Impractical Jokers’ Sal Vulcano. Both podcasts are among the most popular on all streaming platforms and have massive followings on Patreon. A big sports fan\, Chris has been fortunate to host episodes of shows including MLB’s Off The Bat and MSG’s The Brackets\, and was invited by the New York Mets to throw the first game pitch in 2021. Chris has a fearless\, yet endearing stage presence\, and his natural ability to connect with audiences around the world has made him a household name in not just comedy\, but all of entertainment. Since selling out the world-famous Beacon Theater in New York City\, Chris continues to travel the country on a sold out comedy tour\, entertaining thousands by poking fun at the world—and himself—with his uniquely warm energy. Chris’ second full-length special\, Speshy Weshy\, premiered on Netflix this past May.
