SUMMARY:Ghost Tours of Tarrytown Music Hall
DESCRIPTION:Join this guided tour created by Master Storyteller Jonathan Kruk and discover the historic lore and spirits that linger at The Tarrytown Music Hall. \nThe Tarrytown Music Hall was built in 1885 during the Millionaire’s Colony Era when mansions dotted the Hudson Valley landscape and families such as the Rockefellers\, Goulds and Vanderbilts gathered at the Music Hall to participate in its lavish balls\, flower shows and concerts. Since then\, the Music Hall has been a reflection of the human spirit\, mirroring the current events of the town and the rest of the world. In addition to Presidents’ speeches\, it has hosted women’s suffrage rallies and endured several wars\, depressions and pandemics including those of 1918 and 2019. It is a vessel through which many people pass. And some don’t leave . . . \nThe building is an official site of the Haunted History Trail of New York. Gotham Paranormal Research Society has investigated the Music Hall several times and has consistently detected paranormal activity including intriguing EVP (electronic voice phenomena) audio files and EMF (electromagnetic field) readings. \nThe 45-minute tour kicks off in the theater lobby and does include climbing stairs and extended periods of standing. Times vary by date. \n2025 Dates: September 23\, 24. October 4\, 6\, 7\, 8\, 9\, 10\, 11\, 14\, 15\, 18\, 20\, 21\, 22\, 23\, 27\, 28\, 30. November 4\, 6\, 8.

SUMMARY:Christ Church Tour

An estimated 5\,000 descended on this small church on the day of Irving’s funeral—far exceeding its capacity. \nTours are free\, donations are much appreciated! SUMMARY:An Audience with Poe
DESCRIPTION:Sip\, savor\, and shiver with Poe’s darkest tales brought to life through storytelling\, cocktails\, and confections.\nThis fall\, professional storytellers bring to life the “powerful graphic effect” that Washington Irving once praised in Edgar Allan Poe’s writing\, with haunting renditions of The Raven\, The Tell-Tale Heart\, The Black Cat\, and The Masque of the Red Death. We pair the tales with complimentary cocktails or mocktails designed to capture the spirit of the stories. \nThe evening begins in the Library at Historic Hudson Valley\, where visitors enjoy their first drink while standing among the shelves\, listening to a creepy tale. From there\, the experience deepens in an intimate theater setting\, with three more of Poe’s dark masterpieces performed in turn\, as those gathered sip drinks\, nibble biscotti\, and savor a piece of fine chocolate—indulgences to savor in the night’s shadows. \nOctober 3 – November 1\, performances Fridays-Sundays plus Columbus Day Monday. Multiple performances per day\, see organizer’s website for actual times. \nPerformance length: 1 hour and 30 minutes. \n\nRECOMMENDED FOR AGES 14+

The New York-based quartet performs a diverse mix of The Floyd’s extensive 16-album repertoire\, complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems. \nWith stellar musicianship and passionate delivery\, The Machine explores collective improvisation rivaling that of an early 1970’s Pink Floyd\, while their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays and lighting continues The Floyd spirit of the 1980’s.
