SUMMARY:Llama Llama Red Pajama Live!
DESCRIPTION:Llama Llama Red Pajama Live!\, a new musical by Bay Area Children’s Theatre inspired by the bestselling Llama\, Llama Red Pajama series of picture books by the late Anna Dewdney. \nFamilies can join in the fun when Llama bursts into his bedroom looking frantically for his favorite red pajamas. Mama\, hearing the commotion\, comes upstairs with Llama’s pajamas in the laundry basket to ask about his day—his very first day at school—and put him to bed. But when she goes downstairs to do the million things that busy mothers have to do at the end of the day\, Llama is too wiggly to fall asleep\, and besides\, he’s thirsty. He howls for Mama to come back up\, but she doesn’t arrive. Will she ever return? \n“What’s amazing about the Llama Llama books\,” said Director\, “is that they are telling a story about a normal child who is going through scary moments about growing up and has to learn how to take care of himself in the simplest ways to feel safe\, comfortable and become a little bit more independent. What we’re doing with this musical is to bring to life some of those situations\, as Llama learns that\, if he’s a bit anxious\, he can calm down and not have a total mental breakdown at this very moment. Llama is already living in an imaginary world\, but sometimes that scary shadow is just an old towel and a baseball bat left on the floor. We’re just helping him deal with the choices he has made.” \nAward-winning playwright-composer-lyricist Austin Zumbro (“Goodnight\, Goodnight\, Construction Site the Musical”) has written a panoply of clever tunes in a variety of styles to create a fun-filled\, contemporary musical that expresses the imagination of childhood for both children and adults to enjoy\, including a song about the history of sleepwear through the ages. \nFamilies are invited come to this original\, world-premiere musical ready to do the Bedtime Dance! Recommended for ages 3 and up.

SUMMARY:Jazz is Dead - 25th Anniversary Celebrating the Grateful Dead
DESCRIPTION:Jazz is Dead – The acclaimed All-Star instrumental ensemble\, famous for interpretations of classic Grateful Dead songs with jazz influences\, returns in 2023 to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. Co-founder Alphonso Johnson will be joined by Steve Kimock\, Pete Lavezzoli & Bobby Lee Rodgers\, performing Grateful Dead’s ‘Wake of The Flood’ marking it’s 50th Anniversary\, in addition to other beloved selections. Jazz Is Dead XXV ‘reunites’ two greats! That album also featured Derek Trucks\, Donna Jean Godchaux & Vassar Clements. \nJAZZ IS DEAD XXV is \nAlphonso Johnson (bass & Chapman stick) \nSteve Kimock (guitar) \nPete Lavezzoli (drums) \nBobby Lee Rodgers (guitar)

SUMMARY:Victorian Christmas at the Octagon House
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the holiday season in Victorian splendor at The Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington\, New York. Join us for an opportunity to experience this lyrical\, eight-sided home surrounded by the sights of Christmas in 1872. The restored National Landmark will be filled with elaborate holiday décor featuring wreaths\, garlands\, and the sparkle of ornaments on a grand Christmas Tree inside the salon. \nCreated as a whimsical summer retreat in 1872 by tea-importer Joseph Stiner\, this National Historic Landmark’s shape was based on the theories of Orson Squire Fowler\, a phrenologist\, who believed octagonal houses enclosed more space\, allowed the sun in at all times\, and permitted more views into the landscape. The Armour-Stiner Octagon House retains its magnificent ornamentation and furnishings and includes the only remaining Egyptian Revival Room in America with its original decoration and furniture.

SUMMARY:The Glenn Miller Orchestra: Home for the Holidays
DESCRIPTION:The first Glenn Miller Orchestra did not make it at all. It was a total and absolute economic failure. But Glenn knew what he wanted\, held to that dedication and relentlessly worked to succeed. He launched his second band – the one that lives on today – in March of 1938. The Glenn Miller Orchestra has been a “hit” ever since. \nThe legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all dance bandleaders back in the Swing Era of the 1930’s and 40’s. A matchless string of hit records\, the constant impact of radio broadcasts and the drawing power at theatres\, hotels and dance pavilion\, built and sustained the momentum of popularity. \n\n\n\n\nToday\, the 18 member ensemble continues to play many of the original Miller arrangements both from the civilian band and the AAFB libraries. Additionally\, it also plays some more modern selections arranged and performed in the Miller style and sound.
