SUMMARY:Glass Pumpkin Patch
DESCRIPTION:The village of Sleepy Hollow welcomes glass artist Gregory Tomb this season. Greg has partnered with the Make-A-Wish® Hudson Valley to create the inaugural Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser of Sleepy Hollow\, October 14-16\, 2022 in Kingsland Point Park. \nThis festive event will showcase over 1\,000 whimsical\, vibrantly colored glass pumpkins handmade by Gregory Tomb\, a nationally acclaimed glass artist known for his unique\, intricate designs. These one-of-a-kind works of art will be available for purchase. Proceeds support the Make-A-Wish® Hudson Valley which has granted the wishes of more than 3\,000 children in the Hudson Valley region with critical illnesses. \nArtist Gregory Tomb has been fascinated by glass art since childhood\, when road trips with his family would often include visits to the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning\, N.Y. After studying glassblowing as an art student at Hartwick College\, Tomb explored a variety of personal and professional interests — but glass art always remained his passion. He honed his craft as a production glassblower in a factory for world-renowned glass maker Simon Pearce. \nTomb has been awarded “best in glass” and served as the featured artist at the Nassau County Museum of Art\, the Hampton Fine Art Festival\, the Stuart Art Festival and the Scottsdale Artfest. His colorful creations have also been featured in numerous museums and magazines nationwide. \nCurrently\, Tomb is the summer Artist-in-Residence for Johnsburg\, NY\, a small town in the Adirondacks. He provides glassblowing experiences for all ages each season and shares his art in the gallery along the Hudson River. For more information about the artist and his glass pumpkin patches visit https://www.gregorytglass.com \nThis is a free event although a parking fee at Kingsland Point Park will apply.

SUMMARY:Octagon House Classic Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Armour-Stiner Octagon House\, a registered National Historic Landmark\, was created as a summer retreat by tea-importer Joseph Stiner. Its shape was based on the theories of Orson Squire Fowler\, a phrenologist\, who believed octagonal houses enclosed more space\, allowed the sun in at all times\, and permitted more views into the landscape. \nThe tour includes a brief history of specimen plants original to the property\, the carefully restored Lord and Burnham greenhouse\, the wonderfully romantic foxglove garden\, (shaped in the exact size and footprint of the house itself!)\, and the charming Octagonal birdhouse\, (a scaled-down replica of the house). Visitors will also experience the house’s wrap-around veranda that offers 360-degree views of the lush landscape\, as well as particular architectural details which relate specifically to native plants and foliage of the grounds. Finally\, the tour will continue inside the house with an interior tour of the first\, second and third floors\, which retain their magnificent ornamentation and furnishings. \nTimed tours only\, last tour of the day starts at 4 pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance. \nThe Octagon House is a private residence. In exchange for the opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind historic home\, all visitors must follow house rules.

DESCRIPTION:“The Devil and Tom Walker” is a short story by Washington Irving about a miserly man who makes a deal with the devil. \nStoryteller Jim Keyes will recount the legend of the Pirate William Kidd\, whose large treasure was buried and never found. It’s rumored that Kidd buried his plunder in a forest\, and made a deal with the devil to protect it. SUMMARY:Ghost Tours of Tarrytown Music Hall
DESCRIPTION:Join this guided tour created by Master Storyteller Jonathan Kruk\, and discover the historic lore and spirits that linger here at The Tarrytown Music Hall. \nThe Tarrytown Music Hall was built in 1885 during the Millionaire’s Colony Era when mansions dotted the Hudson Valley landscape and families such as the Rockefellers\, Goulds and Vanderbilts gathered at the Music Hall to participate in its lavish balls\, flower shows and concerts. Since then\, the Music Hall has been a reflection of the human spirit\, mirroring the current events of the town and the rest of the world. In addition to Presidents’ speeches\, it has hosted women’s suffrage rallies and endured several wars\, depressions and pandemics including those of 1918 and 2019. It is a vessel through which many people pass. And some don’t leave . . . \nThe building is an official site of the Haunted History Trail of New York. Gotham Paranormal Research Society has investigated the Music Hall several times and has consistently detected paranormal activity including intriguing EVP (electronic voice phenomena) audio files and EMF (electromagnetic field) readings. \nTimes vary by date. Tours will be led by either Jonathan Kruk or Chant Macleod.

SUMMARY:The Wailers - 2022 One World Tour
DESCRIPTION:The legendary Wailers continue their quest to bring reggae to the forefront of the world’s stage. Led by renowned bassist and founder Aston “Familyman” Barrett\, and joined by original Wailers guitarist Donald Kinsey\, The Wailers give audiences around the globe the opportunity to experience their unique and innovative sound. From 1972 to 1980\, Bob Marley & The Wailers recorded\, toured\, and performed before countless millions worldwide. Since 1981\, Familyman has carried on the mission to “keep The Wailers together” – just as Bob requested. \nIn tribute to the late co-founder and drummer Carlton “Carly” Barrett\, The Wailers present Familyman’s multi-talented son\, Aston Barrett Jr. It’s startling to witness how the young powerhouse delivers with his uncle’s inspiring landmark “one drop” drumming style. Also on stage is polished background singer Shema McGregor\, daughter of I Three singer Judy Mowatt and Reggae pioneer Freddie McGregor. \nAccompanying the legends and children-of-legends on stage are many other talented musicians: bass guitarist Owen “Dreadie” Reid\, a former student of Familyman who also plays bass with Julian Marley’s Uprising band; front man Joshua David Barrett\, Rastaman by lifestyle and culture\, who delivers Bob’s powerful message of Jah love and unity through his performance and interaction with the audience; Andres Lopez on keyboards\, who has performed with artists such as Alborosie\, Lutan Fyah\, and Anthony B.; and Anne-Marie Thompson\, an experienced gospel singer. FOH/Sound engineer is Christian Cowlin\, a Wailers Band veteran who has traveled the world with The Wailers for more than 20 years and who is responsible for the band’s live sound. \nSince Bob Marley’s untimely passing in 1981\, Familyman vowed to keep a promise he made to his leader and friend – that he would hold the band together and maintain the music’s quality\, to “keep me [Bob Marley] alive through music.” The message is still Burnin’\, the Exodus of Jah people continues\, Uprising and Survival remain the call to fans. The incomparable Wailers are coming to Babylon by Bus\, to rock the stage\, to bring the magic and message of Roots Rasta Reggae. It’s a Rastaman Vibration: a slice of music history you must not miss. Legend.
