SUMMARY:Peek-a-Boo (An Immersive Hudson Valley Haunt)
DESCRIPTION:After a sold-out run in 2024\, River’s Edge Theatre Company is bringing its provocative immersive show Peek-a-Boo back to Bethany Arts Community this October. Inspired by hidden histories of the Hudson Valley\, this one-of-a-kind theatrical experience is brimming with intimate encounters\, voyeuristic thrills\, and deeply human performances. \nWritten by Meghan Covington (Artistic Director of River’s Edge Theatre Company) and directed by Jessica Irons (Artistic Director of Theater O)\, Peek-a-Boo is inspired by the infamous Peek-a-Boo Flats\, a controversial club on Wildey Street in Tarrytown during the early 20th century. The show also weaves in historical figures such as Hulda the Witch\, John Andre\, and Sadie the Goat\, transforming real Hudson Valley lore into an immersive world of intrigue\, danger\, and desire. \nAudience members are invited to step back in time to a 1920s-style vaudeville and burlesque show—complete with dancers\, illicit potions\, and shadowy hallways where secrets are whispered and stories unfold. Guests follow characters through the club’s hidden spaces\, and if they are lucky may even find themselves the sole spectator of an exclusive private scene. \nThis year’s production keeps the beloved characters and core story from 2024 but introduces brand-new secret scenes to surprise returning audiences and keep the narrative alive and evolving. \nWhile Peek-a-Boo offers a tantalizing and spooky night out\, it also reflects River’s Edge Theatre Company’s mission to inspire social change. Beneath the spectacle lie resonant themes of criminal justice reform\, forgiveness\, and second chances. The company will once again partner with Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prisons\, encouraging donations to support their work providing college education\, life skills\, and reentry support to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people. \n\n\n\n\n\nPatrons should note that this production is intended for mature audiences only.

SUMMARY:Ghost Tours of Tarrytown Music Hall
DESCRIPTION:Join this guided tour created by Master Storyteller Jonathan Kruk and discover the historic lore and spirits that linger at The Tarrytown Music Hall. \nThe Tarrytown Music Hall was built in 1885 during the Millionaire’s Colony Era when mansions dotted the Hudson Valley landscape and families such as the Rockefellers\, Goulds and Vanderbilts gathered at the Music Hall to participate in its lavish balls\, flower shows and concerts. Since then\, the Music Hall has been a reflection of the human spirit\, mirroring the current events of the town and the rest of the world. In addition to Presidents’ speeches\, it has hosted women’s suffrage rallies and endured several wars\, depressions and pandemics including those of 1918 and 2019. It is a vessel through which many people pass. And some don’t leave . . . \nThe building is an official site of the Haunted History Trail of New York. Gotham Paranormal Research Society has investigated the Music Hall several times and has consistently detected paranormal activity including intriguing EVP (electronic voice phenomena) audio files and EMF (electromagnetic field) readings. \nThe 45-minute tour kicks off in the theater lobby and does include climbing stairs and extended periods of standing. Times vary by date. \n2025 Dates: September 23\, 24. October 4\, 6\, 7\, 8\, 9\, 10\, 11\, 14\, 15\, 18\, 20\, 21\, 22\, 23\, 27\, 28\, 30. November 4\, 6\, 8.
