SUMMARY:The Man in Black - A Tribute to Johnny Cash
DESCRIPTION:With his strikingly similar looks\, baritone voice\, and spot-on mannerisms\, Shawn Barker has an uncanny resemblance to the original “Man In Black”. Delivering a truly one-of-a-kind show\, Barker revitalises the true character and spirit of Mr. Cash himself\, one of America’s greatest musical icons. The energetic performance features Barker in character throughout the entire evening\, walking the audience through each era of Cash’s life and music\, including hits like “Folsom Prison Blues\,” “I Walk The Line\,” “A Boy Named Sue\,” “Hurt” and “Ring of Fire\,” complete with a full backing band. \nShawn Barker has been performing internationally as The Man In Black for over two decades and has performed thousands of shows\, selling more than one million tickets over the course of his career. Born and raised in a working-class suburb of St. Louis\, Barker took a schoolboy love for singing in church with his family and turned it into a career. The path to his current success wasn’t a straight line from gospel choir to Johnny Cash tribute act. After serving his country in the Army\, Barker returned home to Missouri\, took a job as a carpenter\, and spent all of his free time learning how to play the guitar. \nHe developed strength and versatility in his voice by modeling his crooning on a cast of legends – Johnny Cash\, Elvis Presley\, Roy Orbison\, Buddy Holly and Gene Vincent. His performances quickly turned from hobby to profession\, but oddly enough\, Barker’s first touring gigs were portraying Elvis\, not Johnny Cash. Everything changed\, however\, when Barker was asked to audition for the part of Cash in a Hollywood production\, as it became evident to the director and Barker himself that Johnny Cash was his true calling. From that point there was no turning back. The Man In Black has become the best Johnny Cash Tribute act in the world\, with many productions and brands commissioning Barker and his baritone voice for radio\, TV\, and voiceover productions\, to include Barker being featured in a national ad campaign for Coca-Cola.

SUMMARY:An Audience with Poe
DESCRIPTION:Sip\, savor\, and shiver with Poe’s darkest tales brought to life through storytelling\, cocktails\, and confections.\nProfessional storytellers bring to life the “powerful graphic effect” that Washington Irving once praised in Edgar Allan Poe’s writing\, with haunting renditions of The Raven\, The Tell-Tale Heart\, The Black Cat\, and The Masque of the Red Death. We pair the tales with complimentary cocktails or mocktails designed to capture the spirit of the stories. \nThe evening begins in the Library at Historic Hudson Valley\, where visitors enjoy their first drink while standing among the shelves\, listening to a creepy tale. From there\, the experience deepens in an intimate theater setting\, with three more of Poe’s dark masterpieces performed in turn\, as those gathered sip drinks and enjoy small treats—indulgences to savor in the night’s shadows. \nSaturdays\, May 23 through June 27. Performances at 3\, 5 & 7 pm \nRECOMMENDED FOR AGES 16+ \nAdvanced Tickets Only. Not Sold on Site.

SUMMARY:Joe Avati
DESCRIPTION:Internationally renowned for his inimitable style Avati\, who is Australian born with an Italian heritage\, is one of the most significant and pivotal comedians of his generation who\, undoubtedly\, is directly responsible for the ethnic comedy circuit around the world today. \nFor the past 30 years Joe Avati’s routines about growing up with a culturally diverse background have gained him a cult following around the globe. Avati has also become the master of treading the very fine line of saying whatever everyone seems to think but no one dares to say whilst not resorting to the use of profanities or vulgar shock tactic routines and in doing so allowing audiences of all ages to attend his shows. He has a razor sharp wit and his observations are not only deadly accurate but extremely relatable to his growing international audiences. Joe Avati is\, without doubt\, one of the world’s most loved and successful comedians of his generation.
