Rockefeller State Park Manager House
You walk through the night, your path lit only by lanterns.
The dark woods surround you as does the chill in the night air. The sound of an approaching horse causes a look over your shoulder. Is someone coming?
Your group joins a traveler around his fire and listens to local legends (The Storyteller). But your journey has only begun and you must not tarry. Up Old Gory Brook Road trail, amidst the boulders, an old man dressed only in ragged leathers, beckons you visit with him a spell. He is the Leatherman.
The coyote’s sing as the moon rises and reminds your group that it is time for the last part of your journey. As you trek down to the Witch’s Spring trail, in the distance the magical fairy lights tell you that you are nearing Hulda’s Hut and the “witch” awaits you! Here you sit in hand-carved seats made from the very trees that surround you, on the site where Hulda’s home may have actually stood nearly 250 years ago. And you hear her tell her story.
Hulda’s Night is like nothing else you’ve ever experienced. Join us for a night in our woods and let us take you back in time.
PLEASE NOTE: Numbers are limited so registration is required for this event. There will be two groups. The First Group departs at 6pm the second departs at 7pm (sharp). While this is not intended to be a scary event, it does take place at night and there is a witch involved, so the organizers suggest children be over age 10. Please bring flashlights with you.
2021 dates: October 27-30. Two shows per evening. Tickets go on sale Friday, Sept 3, 2021 10 am.
