Ahfat was named one of CBC Music’s 30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30 in 2018. \nContinuing his dynamic exploration of music in-tandem with film\, he recently partnered with Riddle Films to release a cinematic performance of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition filmed live at Toronto’s Koerner Hall. He is Artistic Director of OPUS Chamber Music\, Toronto’s newest premier hub for chamber music connecting audiences with dynamic and compelling artists who aim to excite\, connect\, and inspire. \nTickets are $40\, under age 18 admitted free. SUMMARY:The Man in Black - A Tribute to Johnny Cash
DESCRIPTION:With his strikingly similar looks\, baritone voice\, and spot-on mannerisms\, Shawn Barker has an uncanny resemblance to the original “Man In Black”. Delivering a truly one-of-a-kind show\, Barker revitalises the true character and spirit of Mr. Cash himself\, one of America’s greatest musical icons. The energetic performance features Barker in character throughout the entire evening\, walking the audience through each era of Cash’s life and music\, including hits like “Folsom Prison Blues\,” “I Walk The Line\,” “A Boy Named Sue\,” “Hurt” and “Ring of Fire\,” complete with a full backing band. \nShawn Barker has been performing internationally as The Man In Black for over two decades and has performed thousands of shows\, selling more than one million tickets over the course of his career. Born and raised in a working-class suburb of St. Louis\, Barker took a schoolboy love for singing in church with his family and turned it into a career. The path to his current success wasn’t a straight line from gospel choir to Johnny Cash tribute act. After serving his country in the Army\, Barker returned home to Missouri\, took a job as a carpenter\, and spent all of his free time learning how to play the guitar. \nHe developed strength and versatility in his voice by modeling his crooning on a cast of legends – Johnny Cash\, Elvis Presley\, Roy Orbison\, Buddy Holly and Gene Vincent. His performances quickly turned from hobby to profession\, but oddly enough\, Barker’s first touring gigs were portraying Elvis\, not Johnny Cash. Everything changed\, however\, when Barker was asked to audition for the part of Cash in a Hollywood production\, as it became evident to the director and Barker himself that Johnny Cash was his true calling. From that point there was no turning back. The Man In Black has become the best Johnny Cash Tribute act in the world\, with many productions and brands commissioning Barker and his baritone voice for radio\, TV\, and voiceover productions\, to include Barker being featured in a national ad campaign for Coca-Cola.

SUMMARY:The High Kings - Rocky Road To Dublin
DESCRIPTION:As global ambassadors of Irish heritage and storytelling\, The High Kings have consistently brought the timeless tradition of folk music to audiences worldwide\, earning them chart-topping success and widespread acclaim. With their signature blend of classic tradition and modern edge\, The Rocky Road Tour promises to be a vibrant showcase of Irish culture\, energy\, and musicality. Following a record-breaking 2024 – including a sold-out world tour\, a feature on Disney’s critically acclaimed Only Murders in The Building\, and over 5 million weekly streams – the band are showing no signs of slowing down. Their momentum continued in 2025 with a string of sold-out U.S. tour dates\, culminating in a headline performance at the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles on March 23rd\, after stops in Kansas\, Nashville\, St. Paul\, St. Louis\, New York\, New Hampton\, Glen Ellen\, Ridgefield\, Alexandria\, and more. \n“A Folk Juggernaut” – The New York Times \nBut it was their inclusion on the soundtrack of Sinners—the current #1 movie worldwide\, starring Michael B. Jordan and directed by Ryan Coogler—that marked a defining moment in their global recognition. The film’s soundtrack\, already topping international streaming charts\, was curated by Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer\, The Mandalorian\, Black Panther)\, a long-time admirer of The High Kings’ distinctive vocal blend and musicianship. After attending their sold-out show at The Troubadour in Los Angeles earlier this year\, Göransson selected two tracks—“The Rocky Road to Dublin” and “Go Lassie Go”—to feature prominently\nin the film’s score.

SUMMARY:Todd Rundgren: Damned If I Do Tour
DESCRIPTION:Rock and roll legend Todd Rundgren brings his Damned If I Do Tour to Tarrytown Music Hall for an unforgettable night with one of music’s most inventive and genre-defying artists. A multi-talented singer-songwriter and record producer\, Rundgren began his career in the 1960s as a member of the psychedelic rock band Nazz before embarking on a celebrated solo career\, becoming known for his innovative production techniques and ability to seamlessly blend genres including rock\, pop\, soul\, and electronic music. Beloved for timeless hits like “Hello It’s Me” and “Bang the Drum All Day\,” he has also produced landmark albums for Meat Loaf\, XTC\, and Hall & Oates\, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. Joining Rundgren on stage is a stellar backing band featuring keyboardist Gil Assayas\, guitarist Bruce McDaniel\, drummer Prairie Prince\, horn player Bobby Strickland\, and bassist Kasim Sulton\, a former Utopia bandmate. Promising plenty of fan favorites\, Rundgren says of the tour: “My audience is so diverse\, I never know what they’re in the mood for — I want to make sure we have all the musical ammunition we need to satisfy the spectrum.”

SUMMARY:Watchhouse - The Ritual Tour
DESCRIPTION:Watchhouse\, the North Carolina based duo of Andrew Marlin & Emily Frantz\, have announced a new studio album called Rituals\, due out May 30\, 2025 via Tiptoe Tiger Music / Thirty Tigers. The collection marks the pair’s first release of all new\, original songs since their 2021 self-titled album\, which earned praise from Rolling Stone (“pristine acoustic picking collides with hazy\, dream-like psychedelia”) Mojo\, NPR Music\, American Songwriter and more. \nStarting over a decade ago playing coffee shops and local restaurants around North Carolina\, Watchhouse is a grassroots success story that’s been driven by Marlin’s poignant songwriting. With sold-out shows at legendary venues like Red Rocks and the Ryman Auditorium\, and hundreds of millions of streams\, they’ve earned a reputation for creating music that “redefines roots music for a younger generation” (Washington Post). The duo – now with a family of their own – are two singers and musicians with profound chemistry\, performing earnest yet masterfully crafted songs that encompass the unknowable mysteries\, existential heartbreak\, and communal joys of modern life. The forthcoming album is no exception.
