SUMMARY:An Evening with Peter Yarrow & Noel Paul Stookey
DESCRIPTION:Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey carry on the tradition of the renowned folk music group Peter\, Paul and Mary–a union that lasted 50 years. Peter\, Paul and Mary arrived on the scene in Greenwich Village in the early 1960’s and at the time\, for the majority of America\, folk was viewed merely as a sidebar to pop music. \nThe nation was still recovering from the McCarthy era and the Cold War was heating up. Peter Yarrow\, Noel (Paul) Stookey and Mary Travers came together to reclaim folk’s potency as a social\, cultural and political force. The Trio lived their songs. They sang at the 1963 March on Washington where Dr. Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech\, they participated in the Selma to Montgomery March\, they sang at countless anti-Vietnam War rallies and they launched decades of musical activism. These individual and collective efforts addressed a wide range of issues from women’s rights\, to farm-worker rights to the environment\, education and issues of gun violence. No American folk group lasted longer or amassed a more loyal following than Peter\, Paul and Mary. During their legendary career\, the trio won five Grammy’s\, produced 13 top 40 hits of which six ascended into the top 10\, and earned eight gold and five platinum albums.

SUMMARY:Amos Lee with Special Guest Mikaela Davis
DESCRIPTION:Amos Lee\, born Ryan Anthony Massaro\, in Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania\, has carved a niche for himself in the music industry with his distinctive blend of folk\, rock\, soul\, and jazz. Known for his smooth voice and emotionally rich songwriting\, Lee’s journey from a humble teaching background to becoming a renowned singer-songwriter is a testament to his talent and perseverance.\nLee’s big break came when he was discovered by Norah Jones’ bassist\, Lee Alexander\, at an open mic night in New York City. Impressed by his talent\, Alexander introduced Lee to Jones\, who invited him to open for her on tour. This opportunity catapulted Lee into the spotlight and helped him secure a recording contract with Blue Note Records. \nIn 2005\, Amos Lee released his self-titled debut album\, which received critical acclaim and showcased his gift for blending soulful vocals with heartfelt lyrics. The album’s success led to tours with legendary artists such as Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello\, further solidifying Lee’s position in the music world. Lee’s follow-up albums\, including “Supply and Demand” (2006)\, “Last Days at the Lodge” (2008)\, “Mission Bell” (2011)\, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart\, “Mountains of Sorrow\, Rivers of Song” (2013)\, and “Spirit” (2016)\, have continued to earn praise for their depth\, sincerity\, and musical diversity. Each record explores new themes and sounds\, reflecting Lee’s growth as an artist and his willingness to experiment while staying true to his roots. \nMikaela Davis is a talented American harpist\, singer-songwriter\, and musician\, known for her unique blend of indie pop\, folk\, and rock music with the classical harp. She stands out in the indie music scene for her ethereal vocals\, intricate harp playing\, and skillful songwriting\, which often explores themes of love\, self-discovery\, and emotional introspection.

SUMMARY:The Bacon Brothers Freestanding Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Bacon Brothers have spent the better part of three decades exploring their own mix of folk\, rock\, soul\, and country music. They call that diverse sound “forosoco\,” and it’s taken them around the world\, from headlining gigs in Japan to American performances at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall\, the Grand Ole Opry and Gruene Hall. \nThe exploration continues with the band’s twelfth release\, Ballad Of The Brothers. It’s a record that highlights not only the similarities between Kevin Bacon (known worldwide as an A-list Hollywood actor) and Michael Bacon (celebrated as an Emmy-winning composer)\, but the differences\, too. The two siblings may be bound together by blood and a mutual love of American roots music\, but they’ve grown into sharp songwriters and cinematic storytellers with their own distinct approaches. Ballad Of The Brothers makes room for both of those approaches\, offering a mix of edgy alt-rock (“Take Off This Tattoo”)\, Motown-inspired soul (“Put Your Hand Up”)\, fingerpicked folk (“Let That Be Enough”)\, and everything in between. The album also marks the continuation of a musical partnership that began long ago in Philadelphia\, where the Bacons were raised on a soundtrack of 1970s singer/songwriters\, Philly soul bands\, and classic rock acts. Multiple decades and countless shows later\, they’re creating their own soundtrack\, saluting their old-school influences while making music that’s undeniably modern.

SUMMARY:Toad the Wet Sprocket
DESCRIPTION:Toad The Wet Sprocket – the trio of founding members Glen Phillips\, Todd Nichols\, and Dean Dinning – are still making new music and touring with the same spirit and independence that started it all\, over three decades ago. This year marks a new milestone in their journey with the 30th anniversary of the 1994 platinum selling album Dulcinea. Don’t miss this chance to see the band at Tarrytown Music Hall! \nDulcinea arrived in 1994 and was followed by a tour in which the band played over 80 headlining shows\, with openers as diverse as Milla Jovovich and Hootie & the Blowfish in their first national tours. The first single “Fall Down” (with a video directed by Samuel Bayer of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” fame) spent 6 weeks at number one on the Billboard Modern Rock chart. “Something’s Always Wrong” was featured in the movie “Fear” and had a groundbreaking music video that put the band on the Home Shopping Network selling themselves to the lowest bidder. A highlight of the Dulcinea era was playing the NOW rally in Washington\, DC in April of 1995\, a performance that put the band in front of a million people and was nationally broadcast. Dulcinea went on to sell over a million copies and was certified by the RIAA\, giving the band its second platinum album in a row. Many songs from Dulcinea are played in the band’s live set every night on tour\, and in 2023\, “Fall Down” was featured on the Showtime series “Billions”\, with the song showing up on the Shazam charts the following week. \nToad’s third studio album\, Fear\, followed in 1991 and included their multi-format iconic hit singles “All I Want” and “Walk on the Ocean”. It was certified RIAA Platinum and further solidified the band’s popularity and mainstream success. In 1994\, Dulcinea followed. \nIn 1995 Toad released In Light Syrup\, a collection of rarities that included the hit “Good Intentions”\, which was featured on the Platinum-selling Friends soundtrack. \nThe band took a break in the late 1990s\, with the members pursuing solo projects. However\, they reunited in 2006 and have continued to perform together ever since. In 2013\, they released their first album in 16 years\, New Constellation. The album includes fan-favorite tracks “The Moment”\, “California Wasted” and “Enough” that showcase the bands growth and versatility. \nStarting Now (2021) marked a return to form for the band\, with introspective lyrics\, and signature harmonies. It well-received and showcased the band’s signature sound while also exploring new sonic territories. Songs like “Transient Whales”\, “Starting Now” and “Hold On” serve as core performance tracks at live shows and as fan favorites. \nToad’s most recent album\, All You Want\, is a remastered greatest hits album and features the most recent single “Best of Me (2023)”\, an alternative version to the album release cut of the track featuring Michael McDonald. \nThroughout their career\, Toad the Wet Sprocket has remained humble and grateful for the loyal support of their incredible fans. This is the fuel that inspires the band to continue creating music and performing live to this day.
