DESCRIPTION:America’s “Founding Father of Literature” and inventor of many Christmas traditions created this romantic\, picturesque estate nestled along the Hudson riverbank. The house and the furnishings\, many of which are original to Irving\, have been restored to their 1850s character. \nThe site will be open for guided tours and the museum shop will be open Saturday-Sunday December 7-22. Tours are free for Historic Hudson Valley members. Admission is by timed ticket only.

DESCRIPTION:Journey to Colonial America! Wander along a woodland path and enter the year 1750\, when Philipsburg Manor was a thriving milling and trading complex that was home to several hundred tenant farmers and twenty three enslaved individuals. It is the country’s first living history museum to focus on the history of northern slavery. \nThe site will be open for guided tours and the museum shop will be open Saturday-Sunday\, December 7-December 22. Tickets are $18 for adults\, $15 for seniors and young adults\, and $13 for children. Tours are free for Historic Hudson Valley Members. Admission is by timed ticket only.

DESCRIPTION:For over a century\, several of the families who once called Lyndhurst home\, infused the mansion with the magic of the holiday season. \nLavishly decorated\, Lyndhurst would come alive with holiday dishes gracing the tables as music filled the rooms with the sounds of Christmas. \nInspired by these traditions\, the Holiday Tea will celebrate the genre of music that accompanied the families’ gatherings\, with a short program highlighting the history of carols and melodies with a special focus on those with seasonal fare references. \nLed by Bridget Bray\, owner of the Puddings and Biscakes teas and the creator of custom-crafted tea experiences\, the Holiday Tea experience promises to capture the spirit of the season\, and we invite you to join in the merriment. \nIdeally suited for guests to join on their own or with others\, the Holiday Tea will take place on Saturday December 7 and Sunday December 8 from 11am – 12:30pm and 3pm-4:30pm. Fine teas from the Puddings and Biscakes collection will be offered alongside a selection of holiday sweets that will include scones with jam\, clotted cream and seasonal spreads; mince pies\, gingerbread cookies\, sugar cookies – and figgy pudding.   The Holiday Tea is comprised of a short program\, an array of sweet offerings and tea\, and will take place within the Carriage House. \nRecommended for ages 16 and up.
