It’s a funny\, friendly\, and thrilling hour of theater – perfect for children ages 3 through 9\, perfect for everyone! \nIn “Rise and Shine\,” the sun wakes up and prepares for work\, punching in as the moon punches out. “We Start to Sing” introduces the cast with a glorious song and dance about the start of a new day. Bowling pins try to make the best of their situation in “That’s the Life of a Bowling Pin”. Two friends on a fishing trip get more than they bargained for in “A Day on the Lake”\, and “Ants in My Pants” invites the entire audience to participate in a song and dance to help in a tricky picnic situation. The hour is rounded out with flying pizzas\, a game called “Spin-A-Dance\,” a girl who rides a whale all the way home\, and much more. It’s all wrapped up in The Paper Bag Players’ signature paper and cardboard costumes and props that inspire the imagination. All proceeds benefit Christ Church San Marcos outreach in the local community and around the world. \n\nWashington Irving\, author of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow\,” followed the Rev. Dr. William Creighton to this church from Zion Episcopal in Dobbs Ferry. Irving was a vestryman\, warden\, Sunday School teacher\, and regular parishioner at Christ Church until his death in 1859. The ivy on the church walls is from cuttings taken at Irving’s home\, Sunnyside\, and his pew is still marked in the front of the sanctuary.

DESCRIPTION:Join Philipsburg Manor for a day filled with art\, poetry\, live music\, dance\, and storytelling that celebrates and commemorates the region’s African American history and culture. \nHear a spoken word performance\, dance to the beat of African kora\, observe an artist in process\, participate in a call-and-response song\, and more. \nBrought to the New World by the Dutch\, Pinkster became an important holiday for enslaved Africans\, who celebrated with dance\, music\, storytelling\, and games. Pinkster provided one of the few opportunities for enslaved men and women to travel to family members. It was a time of celebration\, but the condition of enslavement was still the harsh reality of life. \nPhilipsburg Manor began celebrating Pinkster in 1977\, making this event the longest-running recreation of Pinkster in North America. \nThe Pinkster Festival is curated by Malik Work and presented by Historic Hudson Valley.

Regional Stage features Jake Wildhorn\, Alex Cano\, Christine Chanel\, Dan Zlotnick Band\, Shakeout and the School of Rock Briarcliff Manor. \nWith over a dozen food trucks\, an expanded beer garden featuring three local craft breweries and local legends Beekman Ale House mixing cocktails and pouring drinks all day\, there is plenty to keep your belly full and your spirits high. \nSleepy Hollow Music Festival strives to be the most fun and family-friendly music festival in the tristate. Kids of all ages will enjoy the action-packed Kids’ Zone\, which boasts a ninja course\, mini golf\, sensory play\, crafts\, an assortment of inflatables\, sports and a brand-new playground! Kids under 12 are free with a ticketed adult (two kids per adult). There’s plenty of space for families to bring a picnic blanket and relax for the whole day. \nThe festival takes place at beautiful Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow\, NY on Saturday\, June 7.
