Stop by TaSH, Tarrytown’s and Sleepy Hollow’s weekly farmers market, for fresh Hudson Valley produce, meat, bread, cut flowers, dairy products, preserves, and wine. There are weekly live music performances, children’s events as well as ongoing educational activities and programs. Stop by the TaSH booth for complimentary coffee from Tarrytown’s Coffee Labs.
If the promise of fresh baked goods and a cup of coffee are not enough to draw you to market on a Saturday morning, it’s worth noting that Patriots Park commemorates a significant event in the American Revolution. This is the spot where three militia captured British spy John Andre, thwarting American general Benedict Arnold’s treasonous plot to hand over the highly strategic fort at West Point to the British. Since Arnold’s plot also involved handing over George Washington himself, the capture at Tarrytown probably averted a devastating chain of events. This is also the spot in “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” where Ichabod Crane first encounters the Headless Horseman.

Covering the other half of the weekend is the village of Irvington’s farmers market. Look for the life-sized statue of Irving’s character Rip Van Winkle at the southwestern corner of the school property, facing Main Street.
